    First, we wish all our members a fruitful, exciting, and happy new year!

    It&#;s also a new beginning, as the AGM has given our association a new president, Lars Fuglsang, and new articles of association in line with the legal rules of the country that hosts its headquarters, namely Italy. The Board was also enlarged by the addition of  Emmanuel Fragnière, Director of the CAS HES-SO (Switzerland) who was with his team the organizer of the congress in Sierre (Switzerland).

    DFG Presents "Funding Atlas ": Compendium on Public Funding of Research in Germany

    In , German universities received a total of around € billion in basic funding, €3 billion more than in – an increase of percent. A total of € billion in third-party funding was allocated to universities in , an increase of € billion or percent compared to For the first time in almost ten years, third-party university funding had again increased more significantly than basic funding, and that the so-called third-party funding rate had risen from to 28 percent.

    In addition to the shifts in basic and third-party funding, the new Funding Atlas also shows changes in the sources of third-party funding. Here, the federal government has continued to significantly increase its third-party funding activities.
